How much is a replacement smart key?+
From £249 supplied, cut (most hide an emergency blade) and programmed at your door — against a typical £400–£900 at a main dealer. All-keys-lost on smart-key cars starts at £299. Exact price depends on make and model; send your reg for a fixed quote.
My keyless fob got wet / went through the wash — is it dead?+
Sometimes it survives a careful dry-out and a new battery; often the board corrodes over the following weeks. Best answer: get a replacement programmed while the soggy one still works — it's a spare-key price rather than an all-keys-lost price.
Can you do BMW, Audi and Mercedes smart keys?+
Yes — including the systems dealers rely on being "dealer-only": BMW CAS/FEM, VW Group MQB platform and Mercedes keyless-go. These take longer than a basic remote and are priced accordingly, but still far under dealership rates.
What about keyless relay theft?+
A real issue: thieves relay the fob's signal from inside your house. Ask about signal-blocking pouches when we visit — and store fobs away from the front door. Keyless entry can also be disabled on some models on request, leaving the buttons working normally.
