I've lost all my car keys — what do I do?+
Don't pay for recovery to a dealership. Call or WhatsApp with your reg and postcode: a mobile locksmith comes to the car, gains entry without damage, cuts a new key from the lock and programs it to the immobiliser on site. Most all-keys-lost jobs are done the same day.
How much does all-keys-lost replacement cost?+
From £160 for older transponder vehicles and from £299 for modern smart-key vehicles. It costs more than a spare because the car's immobiliser has to be accessed without a working key — but it's still typically half what a dealer charges, without the tow.
Will my car insurance pay for lost keys?+
Many fully-comprehensive policies include lost or stolen key cover, especially if the keys were stolen. Check your policy documents — you'll receive a full itemised invoice suitable for a claim.
My keys were stolen — is the car safe?+
Not until it's reprogrammed. Whoever has your keys can open and start the car. During replacement the stolen keys are erased from the immobiliser, so they'll open nothing and start nothing. If theft is involved, report it to the police for a crime number first — your insurer will want it.
Can you really make a key with no key to copy?+
Yes — the mechanical cut is decoded from the door lock, and the electronic side is programmed through the vehicle's diagnostics. It's a standard job for a properly equipped auto locksmith, on everything from a 2005 Fiesta to a current smart-key SUV.
