How do you unlock a car without the key?+
With the same non-destructive entry tools main dealers and breakdown services use — the lock is picked or the door decompressed and opened from inside, depending on the vehicle. No drilling, no broken glass, and your lock works normally afterwards.
How quickly can you get to me?+
Typically 30–60 minutes depending on where you are in the patch — Bradford and Shipley are usually at the fast end, York and the Dales a little longer. You get an honest ETA when you call, and a message when the van's close.
How much does it cost to unlock a car?+
From £65, agreed on the phone before we set off, with no call-out charge. Out-of-hours emergencies carry a supplement, which is also agreed upfront.
My child is locked in the car — what do I do?+
Call 999 if the child is in distress or the car is hot — the fire service will not wait, and neither should you. Otherwise call us immediately and say a child is inside: those calls take absolute priority and we'll talk you through it while the van is moving.
Will it damage my car?+
No — entry is non-destructive. That's the whole point of using an auto locksmith instead of a coat hanger: door seals, paintwork, wiring and the lock itself are all left exactly as they were.
